On May 9, 2008, Alia Hartman, aged 25, tragically lost her life in a suspicious fire that occurred in Springfield, Ohio. The fire broke out around 12:36 a.m. at her home located at 1805 Sweetbriar Lane South. Emergency responders from the Springfield Fire Division arrived at the scene and fought the flames. Once the fire was under control, they conducted a secondary sweep of the property and found Alia's body inside.
