On December 19, 2008, Derrell Grier, a 20-year-old from Columbus, Ohio, was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred near the Cassady Market on North Cassady Avenue, close to Agler Road. Grier was shot following an argument with a man named Brian Davis, who then pulled out a gun. The shooting took place in a parking lot just after Grier had left the market.
