On March 6, 2009, the remains of Bobby Ross Jr. were found in the Cuyahoga River, underneath the Portage Path Bridge in Akron, Ohio. This discovery marked the beginning of an investigation that has remained unsolved for over a decade. The circumstances surrounding Ross's death are mysterious, as additional remains were found a few months later, on June 7, 2009, in the 3000 block of West Market Street in Fairlawn, Ohio, not far from the original location.
