On September 12, 2009, Melissa Ann Moore, a 27-year-old resident of Troy, Ohio, was found dead in Dayton. Her body was discovered by city workers in an open field located at 1820 N. Gettysburg Avenue, a site used as a city-owned yard-waste dump. Melissa had been shot multiple times, and her body was in a decomposed state, indicating she had been there for some time before being found.
