On May 29, 2010, Corey Mitchell, a 34-year-old single father, was gunned down in front of his home on North Paul Lawrence Dunbar Street in Dayton, Ohio. Corey had just arrived home with his 11-year-old twins when he was ambushed. The tragic shooting took place at around 9 p.m., and Corey was killed instantly.
