On July 5, 2012, 17-year-old Reanna Rodgers was shot at a Mobil gas station located off Cleveland Avenue and Weber Road in the North Linden area of Columbus, Ohio. She was at the gas station with another man when an altercation led to gunfire, ultimately resulting in both being shot. Reanna sustained a gunshot wound to the head, and though she was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery, she was given only a 2% chance of survival.
