On July 6, 2013, Mikal Kirkland, age 25, was killed in Columbus, Ohio, during a shooting that also injured Devin Skelton, age 28. The incident occurred around 4:13 a.m. near the intersection of Kimball Place and East Fulton Street, outside an after-hours club. Police responded to reports of gunfire and found both Kirkland and Skelton with gunshot wounds.
