Fiasal Omar, a 19-year-old male, was fatally shot on July 9, 2013, in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred in the rear area of 5236 Northtowne Boulevard, located on the Northeast side of Columbus. According to police, Omar was found with a gunshot wound to the middle of his chest around 2:00 p.m. He was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead just after 6:00 p.m. that day.
Witnesses reported seeing a suspect, described as a light-skinned Black male wearing black jean pants, fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting. Despite these witness accounts, further details regarding the suspect remain limited, and no arrests were made immediately following the incident.
The Columbus Police Department, along with the Homicide Unit, continues to seek public assistance for any information that could lead to identifying those responsible for Omar’s death. The authorities have encouraged anyone with knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the homicide to contact their tip line in the hopes of obtaining new leads that could help solve this tragic case.
