On July 31, 2014, Dionte Agee, aged 30, was shot while sitting in a car at the intersection of Hawkes Avenue and West Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. Dionte and a woman named Sierraerica Gabbert were in the vehicle when they were ambushed. Dionte was shot multiple times, and both victims were transported to Mount Carmel West Hospital. Dionte succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital hours after the shooting.
Sierraerica was shot in the back and remained hospitalized in critical condition.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and police have not yet identified any suspects. Law enforcement searched for two or three individuals believed to be involved in the double shooting.
