A man goes to meet someone and is shot dead On December 8, 2016, 25-year-old Black male Curtis Boston Jr. was fatally shot and kidnapped in Cincinnati, Ohio. He had gone to a Family Dollar parking lot on Burlington Avenue for a meeting when multiple individuals approached and opened fire, injuring Boston and two bystanders. Despite attempting to flee on foot, Boston was ultimately injured, forced into a waiting vehicle, and kidnapped.
The following day, on December 9, 2016, at approximately 9:24 p.m., Cincinnati firefighters responded to a fire in the rear parking lot of a building on Central Avenue. Upon extinguishing the flames, they discovered Boston's burned body.
Years later, in March 2023, authorities arrested 36-year-old William McGivens in connection with Boston's death. McGivens was charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. Prosecutors allege that McGivens and another suspect, Quincy Ray, lured Boston to the location, shot him, and when he attempted to flee, struck him with a car. They then transported him to another location where he was fatally shot and his body set on fire.
Investigators believe that the murder was a targeted attack, possibly part of a murder-for-hire plot. As of the latest reports, Quincy Ray remains at large.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities continue to seek information from the public to bring all responsible parties to justice.
