On July 5, 2017, 15-month-old Elijah Carey "E.J." Obrecht Jr. was brought to Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Initially, few details were released; however, after further investigation, authorities classified his death as a homicide later that year. The child had been transported to the hospital from a residence in the Walnut Hills neighborhood, and his case has since remained unsolved. Investigators have appealed to the public for information, urging anyone with knowledge to come forward as they continue to pursue leads.
