On August 15, 2017, 21-year-old Muhannad Osman Ahmed Afdal was fatally shot in Columbus, Ohio. The incident took place at approximately 9:06 p.m. at the Golden Gate Square apartment complex, located in the 2400 block. Columbus police received a call reporting the shooting, and when officers arrived at the scene, they found Afdal with a critical gunshot wound. He was transported by Clinton Township Medic 61 to OSU Wexner Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m. that evening.
