A male is found dead in a parking lot On October 16, 2018, 18-year-old Jamareil Caldwell was found dead from a gunshot wound in a parking lot at the rear of 1551 Bryden Road in Columbus, Ohio. Columbus Police were alerted around 2:37 a.m. to a report of a male lying in the lot, and upon arrival, they found Caldwell unresponsive. Paramedics pronounced him dead shortly afterward.
Investigations revealed that multiple gunshots were heard nearby on Fairwood Avenue around 2:23 a.m., where Caldwell and an acquaintance had been
earlier that night. It is believed that Caldwell was struck by gunfire at that location, and the acquaintance then drove him to the Bryden Road address before contacting the police. To date, the case remains unsolved, with local law enforcement and Crime Stoppers continuing to seek any information from the public that could lead to identifying those responsible for Caldwell's death. Community members are encouraged to provide tips to assist in bringing justice to Caldwell’s family.
