On June 7, 1997, Amber Elaine Lundgren, a 20-year-old from Asheville, North Carolina, was last seen leaving the nightclub Bar Code around 3 a.m. She was walking on Lexington Avenue, reportedly heading towards another bar, Gatsby’s. Later that day, her body was found near Azalea Road, placed near a drainage ditch. She had been fatally stabbed in the neck, and investigators believed she was not killed at the location where her body was discovered.
