On November 16, 2017, 41-year-old African American male Jay Jevon Phifer was fatally shot in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the 2400 block of Kendall Drive, near West Charlotte High School. Upon arrival, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers found Jay Jevon Phifer suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
