On a cold February afternoon in 2014, the body of 32-year-old Barrie Woods was discovered near a railroad line that crosses Dewey Avenue in Buffalo, New York. It was Sunday, February 23rd, when authorities were called to the scene behind St. Mary's School for the Deaf on Main Street. An autopsy would later confirm that Woods, a Buffalo resident, had died from a gunshot wound, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.
