A night clerk at the Fireside Motel is found shot to death
On the night of August 30, 1980, Henry Travers Jr., a 73-year-old male from Derry, New Hampshire, was working his shift as the night clerk at the Fireside Motel on Route 28 in Salem. The motel, which is now the site of a Home Depot, became the scene of a tragedy that would remain a mystery for decades to come. During his shift, Mr. Travers was fatally shot, his life taken in a sudden act of violence.
