On the evening of November 13th, the 49-year-old Hispanic male was driving his tow truck in Chicago, Illinois, when he tragically found himself caught in the crossfire of a rolling gun battle between individuals in two other vehicles. A stray bullet struck Hector, causing him to lose control of his truck and crash.
The incident left his loved ones, including his five children and seven grandchildren, in a state of profound shock and grief.
Hector was remembered by his family as a remarkable and beloved father and son who was well-respected and loved by many in his community. In the wake of his death, his family initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral and other expenses, where friends and family shared their heartfelt condolences and memories of a man they described as a great human being who was always there when needed. His death was a sudden and devastating loss for all who knew him.
The investigation into Hector Negron's death remains ongoing, with no arrests made thus far. In an effort to generate leads, the Chicago Police Department released surveillance video showing some of the people and cars that investigators believe may have been involved in the shooting. To further encourage anyone with information to come forward, Cook County Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of up to $10,000 for tips that lead to an arrest and conviction in the case. The authorities continue to seek the public's help in bringing those responsible for Hector's untimely death to justice.
