On a street in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood, the life of Calvin Alexander, a 48-year-old African-American man, was brought to an abrupt and violent end. It was the evening of September 17, 2007, when police responded to a call of a person shot at 23 Shandon Road. Inside, they found Alexander suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Boston Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
