On a Sunday evening in Boston, what began as an ordinary day ended in tragedy for Thomas Johnson. On April 23, 2017, the 29-year-old man was on Thane Street in the Dorchester neighborhood when violence erupted. Gunshots shattered the night, leaving Johnson and a female companion wounded. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital, but Johnson's injuries proved to be fatal. He was pronounced dead, becoming another victim of street violence in the city.
