On a quiet Sunday morning in West Baltimore, a day meant for celebrating fathers, Daniel Payne’s life was tragically cut short. The 55-year-old male, a military veteran and dedicated employee of a trash company, was a beloved father of four. On what would be his last Father's Day, in June of 2010, he left his home on Winchester Street with a simple plan: to play the lottery, a routine pleasure for him. He never returned.
