In the early hours of May 17, 2011, the quiet suburban streets of Forest Heights, Maryland, were shattered by the sound of gunfire. Responding to a call at approximately 1:50 a.m., Prince George's County Police officers arrived at the 600 block of Modoc Lane to uncover a grim scene. There, they discovered the body of 22-year-old Okasha Hawkins, a male resident of the area. He had sustained significant bodily trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
