In the early hours of a Tuesday in the fall of 2015, the quiet of a New Carrollton, Maryland neighborhood was broken by a grim discovery. Behind an apartment building in the 5400 block of 85th Avenue, the body of 36-year-old Darius Edward White was found. It was September 15th, and the Accokeek man had been fatally shot. New Carrollton Police officers, responding to a call about a man lying outside, found White suffering from gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
