A woman is found dead by her landlord and boyfriend
The murder of Alice Hawkes remains one of Maine’s most haunting cold cases. On October 4, 1987, the 23-year-old was found dead in her Westbrook apartment, where she lived with her boyfriend. Alice's throat had been slashed, and her body was discovered by her boyfriend and the landlord after the boyfriend claimed to have been locked out of their home the previous night. Despite decades of investigation, no suspects have ever been publicly identified, and the case remains unsolved.
