The Unanswered Journey Begins
On June 29, 1997, Linda Mae Parrish, age 41, set out on what was likely intended as a picturesque flight over the majestic Alaska Range. She boarded a yellow-and-white Cessna 182, tail number N3186U, taking off from Anchorage’s Merrill Field alongside her husband, Monte Parrish, and their friends, Donald and Karen Johnston. Though they did not file a flight plan, they reportedly planned to enjoy a sightseeing tour of Denali National Park, one of Alaska's most iconic natural landmarks.
The Final Sighting
The aircraft was last seen soaring over the vast expanse of Denali. That fleeting glimpse in the sky turned out to be the final known sighting of the plane and its occupants.
