A Mysterious Disappearance in Charlotte

On March 25, 2016, 44-year-old Lee Anthony Funderburk vanished from his home on Clairemore Place in Charlotte, North Carolina. Described as a 6-foot-tall African-American man with distinctive tattoos, including a skull and crossbones with the words "Hell Raiser" on his left arm and "Death Before Dishonor" on his right arm, Funderburk's sudden disappearance left his family and community in shock . A Grim Discovery in Davidson County

Nearly nine years later, on May 14, 2025, an employee at Leonard Salvage, a scrapyard in Lexington, North Carolina, made a startling discovery. While inspecting a vehicle recently transported from Charlotte, the worker found skeletal remains concealed in the trunk, wrapped in a rug . The vehicle was registered to Funderburk's mother, Mattie Mae Funderburk.
