On April 13, 2013, Jonathan Santiago, a 19-year-old, was fatally shot in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago. The shooting occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. during a violent weekend in the city. Santiago was among the four fatalities in a wave of shootings that left numerous others wounded across Chicago. The Humboldt Park neighborhood, located on the West Side, has long faced issues related to gang violence and crime, which contributed to the circumstances leading to Santiago's death. ...
