Alberto Valencia, 45, was fatally shot on June 4, 2013, in Chicago, Illinois. Originally from Mexico, Valencia was living in Round Lake, Illinois, at the time of his death. He was shot in an alley in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side and later pronounced dead at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital. His death occurred during a violent period in the city, where many neighborhoods struggled with ongoing gang violence.
