Dovone Jackson, aged 23, was fatally shot on July 30, 2013, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident took place on the South Side of the city, which has often struggled with issues of violence and crime. On that summer evening, Jackson was targeted while standing in a neighborhood where gun violence was unfortunately common. Witnesses reported that he was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant, and despite emergency response efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
