Kevin Roberson, aged 21, was shot and killed on October 21, 2014, in Chicago, Illinois. The homicide occurred in the South Shore neighborhood, a part of the city that had been experiencing ongoing issues with gun violence during that time. Roberson was standing outside when a shooter approached and opened fire, striking him multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
