Marsean Lofton, an 18-year-old from Chicago, was fatally shot on May 31, 2015, in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. He was one of several victims of gun violence that weekend, which was marked by multiple shootings in different parts of Chicago. Lofton was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries after being hospitalized. His death was reported alongside other incidents involving young people caught in crossfire across Chicago’s troubled areas.
