On January 1, 1981, a tragic and devastating event unfolded in Delmar, Iowa, with the discovery of the murders of the Gilbert family. The victims included Bonnie Gilbert, 34, and her five children: Dawn, 13; Michelle, 10; Jason, 8; Gene Jr., 2; and the youngest, Rachelle, who was just 10 months old.
