Adama Moye, aged 22, was fatally shot on November 5, 2016, in a drive-by shooting while sitting in a vehicle in Chicago's Longwood Manor neighborhood. The son of famed percussionist Famoudou Don Moye of the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Adama was waiting for a friend when a dark vehicle approached, and someone inside fired shots, striking him in the chest. He was taken to Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Adama was studying to be a chef, with plans to join his father in France once he graduated.
