Curtis L. Nowells, a 33-year-old man from Chicago, was killed on December 2, 2016. His death was one of the many homicides that occurred during a particularly violent year in Chicago, a time when the city saw a significant increase in shootings and murders, especially gang-related incidents. Nowells was shot multiple times in the city's South Side, and despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he did not survive.
