In the quiet, gated community of Reynolds Plantation on the shores of Lake Oconee, Georgia, a sense of unease began to settle in early May of 2014. Friends of Russell and Shirley Dermond, an elderly and well-liked couple, grew concerned when they failed to show up for a planned Kentucky Derby party. After several unanswered phone calls and knocks on their door, a neighbor entered their home on May 6th to a gruesome scene.
