On July 27, 1976, the skeletal remains of 17-year-old Marilyn Elizabeth McKenzia were discovered in a wooded area off of Jackson Street in Wildwood, Florida. Marilyn had left her home in Pennsylvania in November 1975 to work as a seasonal farm laborer, initially picking apples and later joining crews harvesting watermelons between Immokalee, Florida, and Wildwood.
