On March 17, 1988, Anita Mae Carter Lukander, a 22-year-old US Navy Airman, vanished from her Atlantic Beach home in Florida. She was last seen alive that evening, and her disappearance sparked an intensive search effort. Tragically, nine days later, on March 26, 1988, Anita's body was found in a waterway in Atlantic Beach.
