On April 3, 1990, the decomposed body of 57-year-old Patricia Ann Minnis was found by a prison work crew along U.S. 41 East near Everglades City, in the Big Cypress National Preserve, Florida. The discovery was made under heavy brush, approximately 22 miles south of the road.
