On September 8, 2008, Derrell Baker, a 17-year-old also known by the nickname "Hype," was shot and killed in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident took place in a residential neighborhood where Derrell was tragically gunned down. His untimely death left the community shocked and grieving for the young life lost.
