In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in Jennings, Louisiana, the life of Deontrae Edwards, a 25-year-old male, was brought to a violent and tragic end. On July 5, 2023, Edwards was in an apartment on McKinley Street when the residence was forcibly entered. Inside, an altercation broke out, culminating in gunfire that left Edwards with multiple fatal wounds. He was discovered by police officers in the living room of the apartment.
