In the early morning hours of February 9, 2023, a tragedy unfolded in an Andover, Massachusetts home, resulting in the death of 12-year-old Sebastian Jean Robinson. The young White/Caucasian male was a sixth-grade student at Saint John's Preparatory School in Danvers, where he was known as a bright and gentle soul.
Authorities were alerted to the situation by a 911 call placed from the family's residence shortly after 3:00 a.m.
Responding officers were required to force their way into the home. Inside, they discovered the bodies of Sebastian, his mother, Linda Robinson, 55, and his father, Andrew Robinson, 56. All three had succumbed to gunshot wounds in what investigators have described as a tragic case of domestic violence and an apparent murder-suicide.
The investigation concluded that Andrew Robinson was the perpetrator. It is believed that he shot and killed his wife, Linda, and their son, Sebastian, before taking his own life. The Essex County District Attorney's Office stated that Andrew Robinson died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. No arrests were made as the sole suspect was deceased at the scene.
Sebastian was remembered by his school community as a gifted and creative student who played the cello in the school's string ensemble and had a passion for literature. His teachers and classmates described him as a kind and compassionate friend who was well-loved. He was an alumnus of Saint Augustine School in Andover and was known for his love of animals, his bicycle, and his extensive Lego collection. A funeral Mass was held for both Sebastian and his mother at Saint John's Preparatory School.
