The shooting occurred after a dispute escalated between Ahmad and his cousin, Clarence Murphy. The argument reportedly revolved around a failed drug deal involving a prepaid card. Murphy confronted Ahmad in a driveway, where the altercation ended tragically with Ahmad being shot in the head. Murphy was arrested shortly after, convicted of second-degree murder, and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
