Tyon Blair, aged 17, was tragically shot and killed on July 13, 2017, in the Sandalwood area of Jacksonville, Florida. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a call near Kusaie Drive and Mareeba Road, where they found Blair deceased. It is believed that Blair was using a path near a home as a shortcut around a retention pond when the incident occurred. Witnesses, along with family members, were present at the scene.
