In the quiet community of Mohave Valley, Arizona, a domestic argument escalated into a tragic and fatal event on a Friday afternoon in August 2016. Kimberly Kay Plough, a 43-year-old woman, lost her life in a murder-suicide. For nearly 16 years, Kimberly had been a dedicated budget analyst for Bullhead City, where she was described as a wonderful person and a fantastic employee who was beloved by her colleagues.
On that fateful day, August 19, 2016, authorities with the Mohave County
Sheriff's office were called to her residence. According to a family member present at the scene, Kimberly's husband, 45-year-old Matthew Lincoln Plough, was intoxicated and initiated a heated argument. The situation quickly turned violent when Matthew shot Kimberly. The family member was able to flee the home and immediately sought help.
Law enforcement's investigation into the harrowing incident revealed a grim conclusion. After shooting his wife, Matthew Lincoln Plough had apparently turned the gun on himself. A robot was utilized to safely explore the interior of the home, where both Kimberly and Matthew were discovered deceased. The investigation concluded that no other individuals were involved, and the case was classified as a murder-suicide, with Matthew Plough as the sole suspect in his wife's death.
