Ryan Simpson, a 19-year-old White male from Milton, Delaware, was the victim in a fatal shooting that unfolded before sunrise on July 22, 2024, on Collins Street in Milton. Delaware State Police said troopers were called at about 4:47 a.m. to the 14000 block of Collins Street after a shooting was reported. When they arrived, they found Simpson suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso, and emergency responders began lifesaving efforts before he was taken by ambulance to a hospital with
life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said Simpson had been living in a shed on the property when someone fired several shots into it. The gunfire struck him inside the shed, turning the small place where he had been staying into the center of a homicide investigation. Delaware State Police later identified him as the victim of the Milton homicide, and an official case flyer listed the location as 14365 Collins Street in Milton and stated that he was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
