On September 22, 2015, a tragic incident occurred in Newport, Rhode Island, resulting in the deaths of two men. Christopher C. Smith, 48, of Middletown, and Stephen J. Jemo Jr., 35, of Newport, were involved in a confrontation near the intersection of William and King Streets, just behind the CVS plaza on Bellevue Avenue.
