Born on May 15, 2019, Liam was a student at the Warwick Early Learning Center, where he was known for his intelligence and love of learning. He was a playful child who found immense joy in running and going on adventures with his older brother, Gabriel. Liam had a passion for dinosaurs and cars, and loved watching "Toy Story" and Godzilla videos.
Simple pleasures brought him happiness, like dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets, a morning bagel with cream cheese, or a strawberry frosted donut. His favorite color was purple, a reflection of his vibrant and creative personality that touched everyone who knew him.
The devastating events unfolded when authorities received a call from Liam's mother, Estefania Dempsey. She reported that her husband and Liam's father, 33-year-old Seamus Dempsey, had shot their son with a handgun. When police arrived at the family's Frawley Street home, they first safely escorted Seamus's 79-year-old mother, Ellen Dempsey, from the residence.
Inside the home, officers discovered the bodies of both young Liam and his father, Seamus. Both were deceased from gunshot wounds in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. The Warwick Police Department investigated the heartbreaking incident, offering condolences to the grieving family and the deeply affected community. In the wake of this tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign was established to support the family through their immense loss. Liam is survived by his mother, Estefania, his older brother, Gabriel, and his maternal and paternal grandmothers, among other relatives.
