On January 3, 1980, 64-year-old Floy I. V. Roberts was tragically killed during an armed robbery at her family's farm in the Mars Hill community of Cleburne County, Alabama. The assailants fatally shot Floy, her sister Mae Bell Roberts, and her brother James Columbus "Lum" Roberts.
