On December 5, 2020, 26-year-old Corneil Dontavious James was fatally shot in Munford, Alabama. At approximately 6:45 p.m., Talladega County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of gunfire at the Munford Exxon on Highway 21. Upon arrival, they discovered James inside a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Citizens Baptist Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
