On October 21, 2019, in the quiet Prospect Mountain community of Cullman County, Alabama, a violent encounter cut short the life of 76-year-old Thomas 'Tom' DeWille. The male victim, a renowned figure in the world of concert pyrotechnics, was at the residence of his friend, 75-year-old Rollan Frank Edwards, when the attack unfolded. Both DeWille and Edwards, along with a third man, 48-year-old Jody Jay Tudor, were assaulted with a combination of gunfire and knives.
